Class overview
What are the learning objectives for your class? Write a course description so students understand what to expect for the semester. You can add images below of students from past years, your classroom, or class projects.
Patient Advocate: Help the patient navigate through the process. Help them get what they need/want.
The Forever Student: Never stop learning. Treat everything like a challenge and find learning points from “failures.” Research and planning are priceless when it comes to leading people to say “yes.”
Goal setter: You are always at competition… with yourself. Set goals for yourselves and always try to do better.
Leadership: They have great confidence in their ability to lead and they have excellent communication skills. When a patient is lost, make sure you know how to get them back on track and not get lost yourself. SIMPLIFY THE PROCESS FOR THEM. Guide the patient to say yes.
Educators: They find lapses in knowledge and communication and show them that we are the experts.
Excellent Communicator: Be able to explain in detail, the plan and technicalities in layman’s terms. Be able to communicate with the doctor and teammates.
Empathetic: Understand that patients are human with emotions. Build rapport and trust. Get them to trust that you see them as people and not a “start” or a “consult.”
